How GoldTrace Works
GoldTrace is a proprietary blockchain platform developed entirely in-house by Africa Gold’s technology team. It creates an immutable, tamper-proof record of every event in the gold supply chain — from the moment ore leaves the ground to the moment a bar enters a vault.
Each bar carries a laser-engraved QR code. Scan it with any smartphone and instantly access the bar’s complete provenance record — no app required, no login needed. Full transparency, on demand.

Mine Registration
Every mine site in our network is GPS-tagged and registered on the GoldTrace platform. Miners are biometrically enrolled, and each extraction event is logged with location, date, weight, and miner ID.
Transport Tracking
Ore shipments from mine to processing plant are tracked via GPS-enabled sealed containers. Any tampering or deviation from the approved route triggers an immediate alert to our compliance team.
Processing Record
At each processing plant, ore batches are weighed, sampled, and logged. The GoldTrace system records the input ore weight, processing method, recovery rate, and doré output for every batch.
Refinery Certification
When doré arrives at our LBMA-accredited refinery, it is weighed, assayed, and linked to its processing batch record. The refining process, Miller chlorination parameters, and electrolytic cell data are all logged.
Bar Serialisation
Each refined bar is assigned a unique serial number and a GoldTrace blockchain token. A QR code is laser-engraved on the bar, linking to its complete provenance record — accessible to any buyer, anywhere, instantly.
Vault & Delivery
Bars are transported to LBMA-approved vaults under secure chain of custody. Every transfer is recorded on the blockchain. Buyers receive real-time inventory access and can verify their holdings at any time.
